Review - Post 24

My experience with the whole creative process for this film was not the easiest, but also not the hardest. At first, I created a draft film with an entirely different plot and tone to it. I'll post the draft video and go over it in another blog post. For now, I want to go over everything with the final film opening. The plot of this film was to convey a feeling of intensity and suspense. The genre was to contain elements of criminal/mafia along with action. By starting off the film with a fast-paced car, I wanted to portray rising tension and uncertainty. I believe the camera shots and angles I used established that, but it could've been taken better with some intense music in the background. The actors and acting in general is good, but could've been way better with more professionalism and execution. In some scenes, you can see both of them smiling when they shouldn't have. Demographic - Post 14

Demographic  For my film, the draft I've written has the plot of a teenage girl experiencing personal problems and challenges at home. So, in order to run away and escape from those hardships, she hangs out with her close group of friends to feel better and be temporarily free.  Demographics are a particular sector of a population, and the type that my film will be targeting are the populations going through adolescence and also experience domestic hardships. Whether that be struggling financially, marital issues between parents, or even abuse, it is relatable to want to escape sometimes. People at that age with those problems look for an outlet to make themselves feel free of those issues and fully enjoy themselves before those problems occurred.  I am still debating on who to have portray the main character, but there is a high possibility that it would be myself. Storyboard - Post 36

Storyboard: Two siblings, a brother and sister, enter the shot via car in a still shot. The car comes closer to the screen and cuts to the two siblings, and a conversation follows with a series of over the shoulder shots. After the conversation, a track movement is utilized as we follow both siblings to the door. The scene cuts to an extreme close-up of the sister's hands unlocking the door. Then, the scene cuts to a medium close-up of the two entering the new setting. The shot is recorded in a pan movement as we follow the siblings to a part of the house where they find a note written by their aunt, Annie. She wrote a letter of instructions for her beloved dog, Onyx, which is seen in an extreme close-up for a few seconds.  As the sister reads the note aloud, the brother goes looking for the dog they'll be dog-sitting for the next 5 days as their Aunt had an important work business to attend to across the country.
