My product introduces the funny yet complicated relationship between siblings, a sister and brother. Usually in films, sibling relationships are represented as "tough love," and leave the rest of the film for character development for one or both siblings to make their bond towards one another stronger. Since they identify as Latino/Hispanic, I decided to go with this theme since this particular group as People Of Color (POC) tend to have harsher way of being raised. Though this can be included in all social groups, I personally went for this group because I am Latina myself, so I wanted to represent my people and bring to light what some of us go through at home that affects our relationships with other people in our lives. 

I also settled with a shared dramatic situation between the two siblings to leave the door open for bonding later on and include the theme of sibling love. Dramatic situations between people often lead them to come closer with each other and tighten their bond. We see how they normally act towards one another in a comfortable setting, their aunt's house, and the audience can tell that there's not a clear connection. That is why I created my video this way, to go with this direction.

Failed Attempt - Post 25

  This was my first attempt at making my preliminary video. I recorded this on December 5th, 2020. This was created entirely on a whim without much discussion and planning (which is very evident).  Although I'd say the camera shots and movements were decent, but the plot, acting, and execution were subpar in my opinion. My peers also agreed when I showed them the video that I could've done a better film opening, and that's when I decided to take it more seriously and redo everything from scratch.

Expectations - Post 2

  Hey, it's me again; Jadan, I'm certain that if someone were to willingly choose to create a film, they should have some sort of knowledge on film-making, right? Or at least know how to use an expensive camera, correct? Well, that's not the case with me. I've never had any experience with wanting to record and create a story through videos. I believe the only advantage I have that'll help me are my artistic views and mindset. I like to draw and paint as well as listen to all kinds of music. With my perspective, I can confidently say that the movie won't be too bad. What I'm looking forward to in this project is learning how to edit videos, create a small plot or story line, and executing the whole process like a real director. I love watching movies and observing the quality of the cinematography and what the movie director is trying to convey to the audience.
